Why use Zoom with Vito?
Zoom hardly needs an introduction. Businesses and individuals all over the world use it to hold conference calls daily, and in an event setting it can be used for interviews, panels, roundtable discussions and more. But hosting your entire event on Zoom can be a lackluster experience for your attendees and limiting for you as an organizer.
Combining Zoom with Vito allows you to broadcast a video call between you and your speakers to all your attendees, while they hang out in a welcoming hub that contains a live-updating schedule, fun-to-use discussion section, pages of custom content, a list of your sponsors and speakers, and more. Plus both you and your participants benefit from Vito’s built in safety and moderation tools, like being able to control your visibility or report a code of conduct violation. It’s the best of both worlds.
How to broadcast a Zoom call to a Vito hub
Zoom allows you to stream a meeting or webinar to another platform if you have a Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account.
The first thing to do is for an Admin on your account to enable Custom Live Streaming Service. Hosts will then be able to stream individual meetings or webinars whenever they need to. Here we provide some step-by-step instructions, but if you get stuck on any of these points, this help article from Zoom goes into more detail.
To stream a meeting
- Sign into Zoom and head to Account Settings
- Jump down to the “In Meeting (Advanced)” section, and switch the toggle to active next to “Allow live streaming meetings”
- Check the “Custom Live Streaming Service” box
- Optionally include some livestreaming instructions — there’s a template you can copy below
- Set up or schedule a new meeting as normal and configure it to your preferences
- Click the Live Streaming tab and then on the link to configure livestream settings
- Enter the stream URL, stream key and page URL for your Vito hub (instructions for how to find this information can be found in the next section) and hit save
- After launching the meeting, click "More", and then choose the service on which to live stream your meeting — as you’ve already configured these details ahead of time, you should be able to start streaming right away
To stream a webinar

- Click Edit next to “In Webinar Settings”

Locating your stream key in Vito
Put your hub into Admin mode by clicking on the toolkit icon and add a livestream in the left menu if you haven't already. Click on the live stream page and you'll see the instructions right underneath the placeholder image. Here’s a side-by-side example so you can see how the Vito details map to the Zoom fields:
