World Information Architecture Day 2022

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the timezone for the schedule?

The event schedule is localized to your browser's timezone.

How will I access the virtual event?

We will email you the access links 72 hours before the global event starts on 5 March. Email reminders will also be sent 30 minutes before the hub opens on 4 March 23:30 UTC.

We are using a community platform called Vito. They are a privacy-first platform with many built-in features for respecting the safety of participants, allowing participants to engage as little or as much as they would like.

Will the talks at the event be recorded?

Yes, the recordings of the livestreams will be available to registered attendees for one year on this conference platform. Where possible, you'll also have access to transcripts, presentation decks, and other event-related materials.

After the event, we'll need volunteers to help with video production and translation to make the videos publicly available as part of the WIAD Content Collection. Interested? Let us know.

What do I need to access the virtual event?

You'll need a computer with a decent internet connection.

Will I be able to ask questions, interact with speakers?

Some locations will be livestreaming from multiple sources. We'll do our best to make sure your questions and comments are addressed by speakers -- either live during the session or afterwards via comments in the discussion.

What should I do if I need live captioning?

Pre-recorded content for the global keynote with Stephanie will have English captions and subtitles in as many languages as we can. Live captioning during the Q&A may be possible. The global team will research this.

If we haven't addressed your question or concern, you can leave a message on the 🆘 Ask for Help page. We'll respond as soon as we can.
