Over the years, probably the number one request that we receive outside of our core product is for on-site services that integrate with tickets: badge printing and the ability to scan tickets to share contact details with vendors and partners.

We’ve had a few false starts attempting to build something that solves these problems, and while the allure of the challenge is still tempting, as a small team, we have to prioritise what we work on.

Enter 8bytes. 8bytes is the talented team that built our mobile check-in app. From the outset, we told the 8bytes team that we need the check-in app to be reliable, and they have done an amazing job of ensuring that reliability and keeping it working over the years. It also helps that everything they produce by default looks and feels great.

While looking at ways to expand the functionality of our check-in app, a few months ago I discussed with Brian at 8bytes the possibility of them building two add-on apps that I knew many of our customers would really love. The first, obviously, being on-demand badge-printing, and the second being lead capture: the ability for sponsors to consensually retrieve contact data from potential attendees.

The result is Badgy, an app that they have put together that makes self-serve on-demand badge printing and scanning a breeze. Since they're the ones who developed our check-in app, you can be confident in the integration with Tito.

If you’d like to try it, you can get in touch with them on the website: https://badgy.ie/, and they've also prepared a further demo here: https://www.craft.do/s/B3PKDjLad6e9U7

We think this is going to be a really good default solution for many customers, and it’s been amazing to see how 8bytes have applied their clean, logical process to a problem that feels like it should have a good solution, but often falls short.
