Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting corporation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.\n\n### Need help?\n\nContact Us!\nTwitter: @cityjsconf Email:  aris@cityjsconf.org Phone (UK): +44 7809468179\n\nConference staff will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.\n\nWe value your attendance.\n\n### Purpose of this document\n\nCITYJS is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media.\n\nConference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.\n\nSponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised environment.\n\n### Reporting\n\nIf someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. If you see or hear someone do something that might violate this Code of Conduct, please report it.\n\nYou can make a personal report by:\n\n### Enforcement\n\nParticipants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.\n\nIf a participant engages in harassing behaviour, event organisers retain the right to take any actions to maintain a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.\n\nWe expect participants to follow these rules at conference and workshop venues and conference-related social events.\n\n### Harassment\n\nHarassment includes, but is not limited to:\n\n#### Inclusive Language\n\nIn our commitment to a harassment-free and inclusive environment we strongly believe it's important to pay attention to harmful language patterns.\n\n#### Ableism\n\nWords like \"crazy\", \"dumb\", \"insane\" or \"lame\" are examples of ableist language, devaluating people who have physical or mental disabilities. Its appearance often stems not from any intentional desire to offend, but from our innate sense of what it means to be normal. These words can be avoided by using more fitting, clearer descriptions of what we want to communicate.\n\nTo find out more about ableism and replacement terms please read [this guide.](http://www.autistichoya.com/p/ableist-words-and-terms-to-avoid.html)\n\n#### Sexism\n\nUsing gendered terms like \"dude\" or \"guys\" to address a mixed-gendered group of people contributes to furthering exclusion of underrepresented individuals. We strongly advise avoiding gendered pronouns as well as gendered terms.\n\nFor more information please familiarise yourself with the [Geek Feminism wiki guide.](http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/wiki/Nonsexist_language)\n\n### Attribution\n\nThis Code of Conduct was based on [JSConf EU ](https://2018.jsconf.eu/), [CSSConf / JSConf AU ](http://2018.jsconfau.com/), [The Geek Feminism wiki ](http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/wiki/Conference_anti-harassment/Policy), the work of [Valerie Aurora ](https://frameshiftconsulting.com/code-of-conduct-training/), [WeAllJS ](https://wealljs.org/code-of-conduct), and [Conference Code of Conduct ](http://confcodeofconduct.com/).","default_code_of_conduct":false,"public_homepage":{"id":23205,"slug":"home-077fcad9-186a-4435-88c8-1e0703039163"}}
